 Psychotherapy
Dr. McClendon provides private telehealth psychotherapy sessions for adult Utah residents addressing Religious and Moral Scrupulosity (OCD-S).

She is also authorized by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards to provide telehealth (video chat) psychotherapy with clients living in the following states and US territories:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington state, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. (Other states have pending PSYPACT legislation.)

OCD treatment is time intensive requiring daily attention to assignments and structured Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) exercises. Adequate OCD treatment is not simply talk-therapy or general counseling, and engages in exposure exercises in a structured, rigorous manner to enact lasting therapeutic change. Be cautious of any OCD treatment provider that claims to provide ERP that does not require a substantial out-of-session time commitment from you as a client. If you do not feel you can dedicate committed time to therapy tasks outside of session (approximately 1 hour per day) due to your present schedule or circumstances, you may want to reconsider whether entering therapy at this time is the appropriate decision for you.

Sessions are 50 minutes
Dr. McClendon's appointments are during the day; she does not hold late afternoon or evening appointments.

Dr. McClendon offers treatment to adults (or to juniors or seniors in high school if they are homeschooled).

Please note that due to the nature of outpatient psychotherapy treatment, Dr. McClendon cannot accept clients with psychosis or psychotic-like symptoms.

Group Therapy
Therapy Group
Dr. McClendon offers a monthly therapy group for those currently engaged in OCD treatment with Dr. McClendon who are looking for additional therapeutic contact and social support with others with OCD lived experience. This group meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 12:00 pm (MDT).  This group is not appropriate for those who are not in OCD treatment, as a foundational understanding of, and ability to practice OCD interventions, are required.

Relapse Prevention Group
To offer ongoing support for her clients that complete therapy, Dr. McClendon holds a Relapse Prevention Group. This group is held via telehealth once per quarter, in February, May, August, and November on the 1st Monday of the month at 12:00 pm (MDT). This group is for those nearing therapy termination, or for those who have already completed OCD treatment. If you are a former client of Dr. McClendon and are interested in a cost-effective approach to maintaining your therapeutic gains and fortifying you against relapse, while also receiving social support, this group may be a great option for you. This group is not for those currently in an OCD crisis or relapse, as a personalized therapy approach is more appropriate in that circumstance.

Those attending group therapy must live within one of the U.S. states with which Dr. McClendon is authorized to work.

Intensive Scrupulosity Treatment Skills Workshop
Dr. McClendon offers a virtual, intensive treatment skills workshop for OCD scrupulosity. This workshop is great for those new to scrupulosity treatment who are not quite ready to commit to personalized treatment, yet prefer a more personalized approach over her online course (see link for purchase on the 'Resources' tab). It is also a great, cost-effective approach for those who would like to be more quickly immersed in the variety of therapeutic skills available, rather than working more slowly through therapy over time. It can also be a good introduction into the therapy process, if you chose to attend personalized treatment sessions with Dr. McClendon or another mental health professional at a later date. This may save time/sessions needed for therapy later, thus reducing later financial investment required for your therapy process.

In this workshop, Dr. McClendon teaches necessary OCD scrupulosity therapy skills, while giving workshop participants time to work on exercises and ask questions about implementing the therapy skills/interventions. The skills will be relevant to treating all OCD subtypes, but discussion and examples in this workshop will be grounded in OCD scrupulosity. This is not a therapy group, and as such, is open to all, not just those living in authorized jurisdictions. This is not a training for OCD therapists.

This workshop is held virtually and is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, 9 am - 3 pm (MDT). This includes 5 hours of training, 2 breaks (15 minutes each), and 1 lunch break (30 minutes).
